In the framework activities of inspection programme of aviation safety in Vietnam from 15 June to 22 June, ICAO Inspection team spent a day assessing of ensuring aviation safety at Noi Bai International Airport. Safety specialists of CAAV had joined assessment team for support.
On 18th May 2016, Mr.Truong Quang Nghia – Minister of Transport had a meeting with Airports Corporation of Vietnam at its headquarter. Mr.Nguyen Nhat- Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr.Lai Xuan Thanh – Director of CAAV, leaders of VATM and Vietnam Airlines, etc.
On 16th May 2016, the inspection team of CAAV, PMU of ACV and constructors evaluated the first phase of apron expansion project of Phu Bai International Airport.
Apron expansion project of Phu Bai International Airport was begun construction on 27th February 2016 to increase from 06 aircraft parking stands for A320, A321 and similar types of aircraft to 08 aircraft parking stands. After nearly 3-month construction, the items have almost finished.
There was a sharp growth in traffic volume of Chu Lai airport in the first 4 months of the year 2016; the airport saw 152,000 passengers, reached 49.5% at planned in 2016 and nearly equaled that of the whole year 2015 (154,549 passengers); facilitated 203 tons cargo, served 1,030 flights.
On 29th April 2016, the signing ceremony of cooperate agreement on ensuring Aeronautical Information Service between Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) and Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) took place at the headquarter of Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM).
