Following the directives from the People's Committee of HCMC, the HCMC Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention & Control and HCMC Department of Health, from 26-29th April, 2021, HCMC Center for Disease Control (CDC) collaborated with Tan Son Nhat International Airport and relevant units to organize Covid-19 vaccination phase 1 for 2,000 employees are currently working at Tan Son Nhat International Airport including 818 airport personnel, who are frontline workers, contact directly with passengers, luggage, cargo from international arrivals.

Recently, thanks to the great control of the Government over the Covid-19 pandemic, almost business activities are positively recovering and passengers are feeling more confident to travel again, as a result, the air traffic volume is immensely increased. In mid-April 2021, Noi Bai international airport served approximately 62,000 pax/day and 430 flight/day, a 25% increase compared with the same period in 2019.

On April 23, 2021, the Airport Operation Center has officially put in operation at the opening ceremony at Cam Ranh International Airport (CRIA).

On April 23, 05 additional security scanners and gateways were put into operation at the Hall A of domestic terminal, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the area for VNA, Bamboo and Vietravel passengers to improve passenger services, meet actual operational requirements and reduce congestion at security screening areas. This practice would enhance the operating capacity through security gates at Hall A granted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam from 1,728 pax per hour up to 2,400 -2,500 pax per hour

On April 19, 2021, the campaign of vaccination against Covid19 ceremony had launched by Can Tho city’s Department of Health and implemented the sample injection site at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Can Tho city (CDC Can Tho).
